Make your own flu vaccine (humor)
Canadians may have a reputation for complacency and lack of protest, but we do have other ways of getting our views across. This video (source unknown) shows you how to make your own vaccine, just like Big Pharma does it — well, sort of. Bet you did not know all the things that go into this stuff, huh? And that is just the short list. You don’t want to know the rest.

World-wide pandemic declared with all normal seasonal-flu-like symptoms being put down to swine flu.
Each and every year humans are subjected to flu, vomiting bugs, colds and ‘flu like’ illnesses- this all appears sort of normal as it has always been like this. Just like chicken pox when you are three and any number of other rites of passage. Well, it used to be expected and normal, but increasingly it has become disallowed to have a functioning immune system- ie; present signs of seasonal illnesses that prime the immune system and have various other functions in the body.
Who is dying from the flu?
How serious is the flu situation now in BC? ShuNews has been following this story since the outset, and we will try to summarize the situation in realistic terms as it now stands.
Firstly, it is important to realize that despite all the hype and misinformation the so-called swine flu or novel pandemic flu, now officially called H1N1 (the traditional name for seasonal flu), is just another strain of seasonal flu. While some are saying that it is the dominant strain of seasonal flu this year, it appears actually to account for somewhere between 2% and 20% of cases, with normal seasonal flu accounting for the rest.

Just a week ago Canada’s health minister, Leona Aglukkaq, said that flu vaccines would not be rushed.
“We will not skip a step to get the vaccine out into the people’s arms and we will not skip a step in terms of reviewing the clinical data that is available,” Aglukkaq said in Vancouver.
“We want to ensure that it is safe and effective before we start to distribute the vaccine to provinces and territories and that is key.” (CBC – H1N1 vaccine won’t be rushed: Aglukkaq)
Today the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada anounced that the vaccines are safe and will be rolled out across the country without delay, as originally planned.

Innoculation against smallpox in Paris, 1802. It all began with Edward Jenner but vaccination has never been proven to save lives. In this cartoon, the British satirist James Gillray caricatured a vaccination scene at the Smallpox and Inoculation Hospital at St. Pancras, showing Edward Jenner vaccinating frightened young women, and cows emerging from different parts of people's bodies. The cartoon was inspired by the controversy over inoculating against the dreaded disease, smallpox. The inoculation agent, cowpox vaccine, was rumored to have the ability to sprout cow-like appendages. (Image by Wikimedia Commons)
