Since 2005, Maria in the Shower has made hundreds of appearances, captivating audiences wherever they’ve performed.

In the heart of the rich farmland of the Shuswap River valley, near Enderby, BC, lies the tiny community of Grindrod. You won’t see a whole lot as you drive past it, but Grindrod holds a secret. On a 5-acre organic vegetable farm called Curly Willow Farm, lies the Runaway Moon Theatre, a critically-reviewed, professional Puppet Theatre and Puppet Museum.

The 6-member band Earthbound will be performing a benefit concert in aid of the Haiti relief efforts of Doctors Without Borders.

On Saturday, February 6th at 7:30pm, the music group, Earthbound, will be performing a benefit concert for the relief effort in Haiti of Doctors Without Borders. The event will take place at the Seniors Centre, 170-5th Ave. East, in Salmon Arm.
Earthbound performances have a reputation for filling dance floors and laying down good vibes wherever they perform so bring your dancing shoes and be prepared for a fantastic musical treat.

Salmon Arm Olympic celebration

The Olympic Torch came to Salmon Arm today (Jan 27) and it’s hard to remember a time in recent years when an event aroused so much pride, not only in Canada, but also pride in our community. Red-mittened hands waved along the route and folks cheered with all their hearts while the procession wended its way toward City Hall where three thousand smiling faces waited for a glimpse of the Torch.

Salmon Arm plans fabulous stage show to celebrate Olympic Torch.
For months, the City of Salmon Arm has been planning a spectacular welcome for the Olympic Torch relay team and now all is in place and the exitement is growing by the day.
The event will start at 10am in Spirit Square, City Hall, with the flame arriving at 11:13am.
Shuswap Theatre — live theatre at its best!

It seems that live theatre has been around the Shuswap since just about anyone can remember. Early on, the Shuswap Players were a popular group of amateur actors and actresses in the area, entertaining theatre buffs as early as the 1960’s.
When, in 1977, the Salmon Arm Recreation Department, with the thought of perhaps starting a theatre group, advertised for people who loved live theatre, they were astonished when 24 people showed up to a meeting in the drama room at J. L. Jackson Secondary School! Thus began the first season of the Shuswap Theatre.

Peak Performance finalists – The Painted Birds – to release new single and website.
Salmon Arm natives, The Painted Birds, have been selected as one of the top 20 finalists for The Peak Performance Project. The program – which is financed by Vancouver radio station, 100.5 The Peak, and administered by Music BC – offers BC musicians an opportunity at a $275,000 prize pool, with $150,000 in development funding awarded to the winner.

The Old Dog Pub, 551 Trans-Canada Hwy N.E., will be hosting a concert by Aaron Cadwaladr and his Band on Tuesday, November 10th at 8pm.
