BC Conservatives soar to 14% voter support.

A recent poll conducted by Innovative Research Group for the Canadian Restaurant and Food Services Association shows BC Liberal party support collapsing under the weight of their proposed HST legislation.

The poll, which was conducted between Nov. 14 and Nov. 19, 2009, shows the BC Conservative Party at 14% support, just 8% behind the governing Liberals who have plummeted to 22% voter support. The NDP hold a slim lead at 25%.

BC Conservatives, an emerging alternative

BC Conservative Party AGM exceeds expectations.

The BC Conservative Party Annual General Meeting exceeded the Party’s most optimistic expectations at what was, by any measure, a hugely successful convention held in Chilliwack this past Saturday.

The Convention was attended by over 120 delegates from around BC, who converged on the City of Chilliwack to hear from a number of guest speakers, including Member of Parliament from Delta- Richmond East, John Cummins.

Mr. Cummins gave a rousing speech that encouraged the members to build their party into a free enterprise alternative to the leftwing NDP and the left-drifting BC Liberals, who continue to free fall in recent polls.

HST agreement may increase federal share

Liberals plan to give portion of PST revenue to Feds in new HST.

BC Conservative Deputy Leader, Chris Delaney, says he believes the BC Liberal government may be planning to assign 1% of its 7% share of HST revenues to the federal government under the new “harmonized sales tax” (HST).

The source of Delaney’s suspicion is the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that outlines the structure of the HST. The MOA was drafted this past July, and was signed by BC Finance Minister, Colin Hansen and federal Minister of Finance, Jim Flaherty.

The BC Conservative Party will hold its Annual General Meeting at The Best Western Inn & Convention Centre in Chilliwack on September 26, 2009.

Federal Conservative MP, John Cummins, has accepted an invitation as AGM guest speaker. Mr. Cummins is the extremely popular MP from Delta-Richmond East who has distinguished himself as a champion of British Columbia issues in Ottawa such as fisheries and aboriginal affairs.

In the wake of the recent announcement of a Harmonized Sale Tax (HST) by the governing BC Liberals, the BC Conservatives are experiencing a massive upsurge in public interest and party support. “The public is practically pounding down our doors wanting information on how to join,” said party president, Wayne McGrath.

Budget ‘raising taxes, raising the cost of living’ — BC Conservatives

BC Liberal Budget proves deceitfulness and incompetence beyond a reasonable doubt.

The B.C. Liberal government released their September Budget Update for 2009, and are asking for more money from British Columbians hard hit by a recession. BC Conservative Deputy Leader, Mark Thompson, says they are raising taxes, raising the cost of living, and ultimately making it more difficult for families to make ends meet.

“Rather than make the important decisions necessary to help British Columbians during this difficult time, B.C. Liberals have continued to build on their legacy of reckless spending and more debt. Premier Gordon Campbell would have you believe that all of this was unforeseeable, that it’s all due to the circumstances of the global economic downturn, and that they can explain away their extravagant spending on the unexpected revenue shortfalls,” said Thompson.

CRANBROOK: BC Conservative Party Leader Wilf Hanni and several members of the Provincial Board of Directors issued the following statement today:

“Wilf Hanni has been Party Leader since 2005 and since that time, we have fought hard to unite this Party and to build it into a force to be reckoned with in B.C. Politics. At times the fight seemed overwhelming, but we stuck with it and despite the difficulties, we were able to accomplish a lot.

We have spent much of the last four years fighting a long and protracted battle with a group of dissidents. As a result, the Party has amassed almost $30,000 in legal bills and we still have not managed to unite the members of the Board of Directors. A small band of Board Members still insists on fighting and having its own way.
