Spring is in the air and, once more, sport fishermen across the province are getting ready for that big catch. The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC provides a stocking program and recreational fisheries support to encourage public sport fishing in British Columbia.
Environment Minister Barry Penner is reminding British Columbia anglers that 2010-2011 non-tidal angling licenses should be purchased before the season starts on April 1st. The new licenses will be valid from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011 and may be purchased online at http://www.fishing.gov.bc.ca.
At the time of your purchase, you will require your angling number, date of birth, and your phone number as of the purchasing date. If you require assistance in finding your angler profile online, you can call the Front Counter BC call centre at 1-877-855-3222.
If the fisherman in you just can’t wait until April 1st, you can still purchase a current one or use your 2009-2010 one up until the expiry date.
Want to know what the regulations are? You can check them out at http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/fish/regulations or you may still find a hard copy at your local visitor information centre.
