Hiker finds body on Mt McKenzie

Revelstoke hiker stumbles upon human remains.
Revelstoke RCMP.
On February 11th, 2010, a local resident was hiking on Mt McKenzie and located what he believed to be human remains. Police were able to access the site and confirmed the presence of an unidentified adult male. Investigation to date shows that it does appear as if the male has been there for some time. The cause of death is not known at this time. Investigator’s believe they know the indentity of the male however a positive identification will need to take place to confirm this belief. Foul play is not suspected.
Revelstoke RCMP are working with the BC Coroners office to establish the cause of death and a positive identification.

Update February 17, 2010
The Revelstoke RCMP have received confirmation on the identity of the human remains found on Mount McKenzie last Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Noel Fraser Moore, age 40, formerly of Ontario. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
