Kamloops fatal accident
Kamloops RCMP.
At 9:07 am on Monday December 21, 2009 the Kamloops RCMP responded to a reported two vehicle head on collision approximately 16 kilometers north of Kamloops on Highway 5. On scene investigators, including a traffic analyst ,have determined a north bound Nissan Pathfinder crossed in to the south bound lane striking a Nissan 200SX.
The three occupants of the Nissan Pathfinder and sole occupant of the Nissan 200SX were transported to Royal Inland hospital by ambulance immediately following the accident. A 14 year old boy who was a passenger in the Pathfinder was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly thereafter. The other two occupants of this vehicle including the 51 year old female driver and 17 year old male passenger are being treated for injuries believed to be non life threatening.
The 52 year old male from Barriere driving the Nissan 200SX also remains in hospital, with ankle and rib injuries believed to be non life threatening.
The investigation into this occurrence remains ongoing. The Kamloops RCMP are asking any person who may have information regarding this accident to call them at 250-828-3000.

Update December 22, 2009
Kamloops RCMP are releasing the name of a local 14 year old boy who passed away yesterday following a serious motor vehicle accident. Nathan Floyd was pronounced dead at Royal Inland Hospital as a result of injuries he received from the accident that occured 16 kilometers North of Kamloops on Highway 5.
A Central Interior Traffic Services Analyst did attend the accident location to assist on scene general duty members with the investigation. Any person with information regarding this occurrence is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
