Last weekend a Shuswap team played in our Fraser Valley “Spirit of Winter” ringette tournament in Langley BC. I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the Shuswap Tsunami, the U-14B team that attended, and won the gold medal at the tournament.
My team played them in the gold medal game and we were able to push the game into overtime. Both teams worked extremely hard and fought an incredible battle. In the end, we lost. Our goalie had the game of her life, and kept us in the game.
After the medals were awarded, the Shuswap team took it upon themselves to present my goalie with one of their gold medals. This was an outstanding act of sportsmanship and I would like for them to know how much it was appreciated.
What a wonderful story for us to share.
