Facing the loss of their civic rights and the postponement of elections scheduled for January 17th on the grounds that there is a pandemic emergency, members of the Ukrainian movement FEMEN have mounted a drastic protest in the form of a fashion show with underwear made from surgical masks.
The protest took place in Independence Square in Kiev on November 9. Under draconian martial laws introduced by Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, demonstrations have been banned.
