July 11-19, Sorrento —
Artist submissions have now closed for the Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts. The annual event will take place on July 11 thru 19, 2009 at the Memorial Hall in Sorrento. There has been one change to the venue — the writer’s workshop has been cancelled and may be replaced with something else (to be announced).
2009 is the 26th year of the Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts, featuring over 100 artists from throughout the Shuswap and surrounding areas. This week long event hosts several artistic workshops, live entertainment, a marvelous children’s day as well as a spectacular gift shop including a huge selection of fine art with a price range to suit to everyone.
Most of the 300 or more pieces of art in the show are for sale as well. Come spend an art filled day or evening in the air-conditioned comfort of the Memorial Hall in Sorrento and enjoy lunch or a piece of lovely homemade pie in the tea room hosted by Woman’s Institute of Sorrento.
The show runs from July 11th to the 19th from 11am to 7pm except Sunday the 19th, when the hours are from 11am to 4pm. Children’s day will be Wednesday the 15th from 10am to Noon.
A spectacular variety of fine art by well known local artists will be for sale at the Gift Shoppe, with prices to fit every budget.
Artist’s demonstrations will be taking place throughout the festival.
